Bob Richardson was born in 1938 in Salford, Lancashire. After five years at art school he went on to work in the world of advertising but at the same time, enjoyed considerable success at exhibitions as an amateur painter. Since his decision to become a professional painter in 1975, his reputation has grown and he has gained great respect in the art world.
Bob is a member of the Pastel Society and a regular exhibitor at the invitation shows of the Confederation of British Artists and the Mall galleries in London. It was there in 1991 that he was awarded their ‘Grand Prix’, and other awards have followed. His paintings are now in many significant corporate collections including Granada Television, BMW Cars Ltd, Walkers Crisps, Boddingtons Brewery, Manchester Stock Exchange and Salford Art Gallery. Paintings in private collections of note are similarly numerous; both Baroness Thatcher and the musician Bill Wyman own his paintings.
