I raised three children while pursuing my nursing education. Children, adults, animals, and everything else that inspires me are the topics of my paintings.

I’ve been painting since I was a kid, self-taught. In the 1970s, Medici published several of my early drawings as greeting cards. I mostly work with oils, although I’ve also dabbled in watercolor, egg tempera, and acrylic.

I started selling at a tiny Nave Art gallery in Preston. It was there that I had my first solo show, which was broadcast on “North at Six,” which was organized by the late Helen Bradley, an artist who was a huge supporter of mine.

Solo exhibits have previously taken place in Preston, Manchester, Tib Lane Gallery, Stockport Art Gallery, Howarth Art Gallery Accrington, and Liverpool Medici Gallery, as well as in London with the British Egg Tempera Society, of which I was a member, at the Leighton Art Gallery.

Stockport Open, Buxton Open, Howarth Art Gallery, Society of Saddleworth Artists, Tib Lane Gallery Manchester, and the Crypt Art Gallery St Ives have all included my work in mixed exhibitions.

At the G Mex Great British Art Show in Manchester, as well as the Buxton Open Exhibition, I was awarded awards.

For many years, I have belonged to the Association of British Nave Artists. They have exhibits on a regular basis in St Ives, Cornwall, and my art is on display at the Mousehole Little Picture Gallery.

I also use lusters and gold to paint on ceramics, which I then burn in my own kiln.

For the last 20 years, I’ve been painting ceramics and selling my work. On vases and bowls, I’ve been experimenting with industrial landscapes and carnival themes.

I began by painting landscapes with a fairy-like shine. Daisy Maikeig- Jones, the designer of Wedgewood’s renowned Fairyland Lustres of the 1930s, was my inspiration. Because I love it so much, I wanted to create something similar.
