carl longmate – deep blue overhead

Born in Manchester in 1957. Carl was always interested in Art and Design as a child, so art college was a certainty. After 3 years of fun, he started his career as a finished artist in advertising, then an interior designer, then self employed, gaining an award from the Department Trade and Industry (DTI).

He has worked for amazing companies including International design company Vitra Switzerland and Steelcase in America. He is now a full time Plein-air painter, using oil as his preferred medium.

He has always enjoyed painting outside, its a very honest way of painting.
